Laurie received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Idaho State University. Six years later, she received a Bachelor’s in social work at ISU. After working in a nursing home for approximately five years, Laurie was accepted to Idaho State University in Meridian, Idaho and received her Master’s in mental health counseling in 2007. Laurie is now a licensed clinical professional counselor. Laurie has worked with a variety of age groups including preschool, elementary, adolescent, adults and the elderly. Laurie has done extensive work in treating and diagnosing a variety of mental disorders. Laurie has had extensive experience in treating post traumatic stress disorder, autism, bipolar, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, victims of domestic violence or abuse, borderline personality disorder, panic disorder. Laurie has experience in treating reactive attachment disorder, conduct disorder and others. Laurie has conducted clinical level CBRS, family counseling, individual counseling and some couple’s counseling. Laurie has completed 16 years of work utilizing play therapy, grief and trauma therapy, CBT and DBT. Laurie enjoys photographing landscapes, wild animals, waterfalls, wildflowers and also loves to visit where she photographs. She has discovered the joy of National parks nearby including in South Utah, Colorado, Arizona and in Wyoming. She loves puzzles, decorating every room in the house for Christmas, experimental cooking and baking, frequently going on spontaneous excursions to community events, collecting stickers and many art pictures utilizing lots of sharpies.
