Mrs. Stempien grew up in North Carolina before moving to the Boston, Massachusetts area where she completed her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. She also holds a certificate in School Adjustment Counseling as well. She worked in various school-based capacities in Boston including providing therapy and behavior support to students in early education settings through high school, as well as consulting to teachers and administrators regarding best practices for students with emotional disabilities. She moved to Idaho Falls in the summer of 2015 when her husband accepted a job in the area and has been at Innovative Health since the Fall of 2016. Though she specializes in working with children, she works with clients of all ages to help them build the skills necessary to lead a fulfilled, hopeful life. She utilizes various therapeutic modalities in her practice including, but not limited to, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and self-regulation therapy. In her free time, Mrs. Stempien enjoys hiking, skiing and being on the water.
