Ask Congressman Simpson

Congressman Simpson Voted for Deep Cuts to Medicaid that will harm the disability community.
Ask him to say that cutting Medicaid is a “problem”

Congressman, Mike Simpson, helped to pass a health care plan – The American Health Care Act – through the US House of Representatives on May 4, 2017. The plan calls for deep cuts to Medicaid – almost $900 billion dollars in the next 10 years.

If they become law those cuts will fall hard on Idahoans with disabilities and their families. Watch this video https://youtu.be/lfit7fX2a3s to hear the voices of Eastern Idahoans talking about Medicaid and its importance in their lives.

This week, Congressman Simpson stated that if he knew the American Health Care Act would become law, he would have voted against it. “There are problems with it”, he told the Idaho Health Care Summit attenders in Boise on May 15, 2017. *

  • Watch the video
  • Then add your voice by calling Congressman Simpson to tell him what Medicaid means to you and your family.
  • Ask him to publicly state that cutting Medicaid in ways that harm people with disabilities and their families is one of the problems with the
  • American Health Care Act he was talking about.
  • Ask him to go on record stating that he is not supportive of any cuts, block grants or caps that harm people with disabilities and their family’s access to critical health and home and community based services.
